Nagging is a huge success

I reported back on the 11th December that we had made a reminder service to remind people who had not activated their Local Link Up PLINK. Well its been live for nearly a couple of weeks now and we have seen a huge surge in activations so we are very pleased.

The Nag system sends out a series of texts and emails with different messages and will be built on to assist our customers get the most out of Local Link Up with various other things in the future too.

For those that have not activated yet, take two minutes of your time to get it done and it will be good for your business.

Sorry if I nag

Well I know everyone hates a nag but this week we have added our automated activation reminder service. in short it's an automated service that nags you to complete the bits of your Local Link Up PLINK that you have not done so you can get Plinking and get you business extra free exposure in these difficult times.

It seems that it is not enough for us to create a world class advertising service, give it away free and for some of you fill in 90% of your details and you are still too busy to press the activate button in your control panel. well now our automated service will remind you if you are one of the guilty parties. The Local Link Up nag service has your number!

Let's get Plinked up now

Right finally our developers have hit the money. The new Local Link Up PLINK product is available to everyone. Remember its free and we are now starting our push to get all UK businesses with a PLINK so what you waiting for. Get Plinking.

Excuses excuses but I didnt say which Monday

Plinking heck. I said that the new Local Link Up PLINK product would be ready on Monday. Now I know I did't say which Monday but you would have been right to presume I meant last Monday gone not next Monday. At the time those pesky LLU developers lead me to believe that it would have been ready for Monday just gone but every day they have come up with excuses. It's always PLINK this and PLINK that but little evidence that they are going to finish anytime soon.

Well I have it on good authority that they will actually have it finished in time for this Monday instead. There have been a few challenges along the way and a few tears and tantrums but now it is really taking shape. I have seen all the test versions and all I can saying is it will be worth the PLINKing wait. The Local Link Up development team have surpassed themselves this time and are really building an award winning advertising product for our customers. Remember that all this service is FREE to use. There are no monthly fees or user charges for what is one of the best local advertising products in the UK.

So what you waiting for................actually you are waiting for us, but I promise it wont be long so you can get PLINKing!

PLINK tastic

Well in the true tradition of Local Link Up we are not going to meet our development deadline for PLINK's today although we are very close to completion. Unfortunately the launch of the new Local Link Up PLINK system will not be ready until perhaps Monday now.

Never mind it will be worth the wait. All good things come to those who wait or so I am told. I have been waiting and waiting for that pay rise...........

Hey guys slow down, we are only in Beta

Local Link Up is essentially a "beta" product in that although we have launched, we know we still have loads of changes and new bits to add to the service before we can sit back and smoke our pipes.

So far this week we have added 588 new signups which is thoroughly testing our new code and systems. Thanks for adding us to your websites. We really appreciate it and it is really helping us to iron out little bugs as we roll prepare for our national and then internal roll-out.

So only joking, don’t slow down. Recommend Local Link Up to your friends.

Local Link Up Profiles - Coming soon.

Hey did we tell you about our new Local Link Up profiles section. No of course we didn't as we are just announcing it here!

Coming soon means in the next week or two we will have a brand new part to the Local Link Up offering that allows you to create a Plink" as my colleague called it. What this means is a public link page which is a place to profile your business to the world.

The best thing about a "Plink" is that we do all the work to get you found and it's still totally free. Just add a small description, choose from some sexy keywords and add other businesses you may like to recommend and press save. In seconds you will have your very own "Plink" for free!

I will update you when I have more on the subject but until then, Plink out :)

Listening to users

At Local Link Up we have experience of listening to customers. We are putting that experience to good use to develop our applications day by day. Just last week we have had some feedback about how the sitebuilder part of "Console" automatically makes the menu structure in the websites it creates and the development team are hard at work to include this improvement. Hopefully tomorrow we will release the update.

The point I am making here guys is that we listen. If you think you have an idea to improve your experience with our software please tell us. If we think it is a good idea too then we will work hard to include it for you.

New Updates to Console

We are going to keep our readers up to date via this blog of all service updates and improvements so here goes for a first one.

We were asked that in Console (our website manager tool) that you could create hyperlinks in web pages. Yes I know it should have been there from the start but it slipped past our radar. Anyway it is now added.

Also you can now add text titles instead of creating whole paragraphs with titles. You can now create seperate headings. Just click on the add text item when editing your webpage and you will see the new options.

Local Link Up is really born

After a small delay for technical reasons we really have Local Link Up moving along now with hundreds of businesses signing up in the first week.

Local Link Up is a unique offering that allows small to large businesses to gain extra advertising for free by co-operating with other businesses that offer services that are complementary to their own.

If you have your own website you can include a small piece of code and Local Link Up will serve of a selection of complementary adverts on your site. For each advert you earn a credit. Each credit gets you a free advert on other sites in the network that you have chosen. It’s that simple. There is no middle man and no cost to you.

If you don’t have your own website Local Link Up can fix that too. We have a wonderful website manager tool called "Console" that allows you to create a smart looking website in minutes and manage the content yourself without paying anyone. Best of all the software is free. You just have to pay a few quid to register your own internet domain name or you can transfer one you previously into to the service.

If you have any questions call 01524 230250 and ask for "support".

Local Link Up is born

Well here goes. This is the first in hopefully a long line of innovative internet advertising products to roll out of Contentys. Local Link Up is the clever and totally free advertising products for people with or without websites.

As usual we have tried to come up with something that is different and moves the market along a little. With this product we wish to get very large coverage and why not? It's free, its great (if I do say so myself) and its very, very good for UK (and possibly further) business!

Watch out here for more Local Link Up blogs charting the progress of this new advertising product for all businesses.

Coming soon. Watch this space.

Well we are really back into the swing of this now and innovating heavily. Its really exciting to be back doing what we do best. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at our previous business but now we have something better up our sleeves. Just watch this space.

Welcome to the first blog post for Contentys.com

Last July after many successful years running Ufindus.com and Customer Street, myself and Mark Hallam, my long-term business partner, sold our business to BT plc. Its more than a year since that transfer of ownership and now its time for Mark and I to start our latest internet business.

While it was great fun starting, building and ultimately selling Ufindus and Customer Street we always knew that we would be excited to start again some time and that time has come a lot sooner than we expected, mainly due to the boredom of being off work all this time. We both genuinely thrive on being involved in the internet sector and have some great ideas we want to bring to market. While both of us considered stepping out of this sector and had some other great ideas we ultimately feel that you are best sticking to what you know and so Mark and I are working on launching our new venture under the group name of Contentys.com and another very special product that I cant reveal just yet.

During the coming months we will be working to launch this new product into the internet advertising sector and I look forward to revealing much more here during the build up. We genuinely think we have come up with a product that will shake-up this sector and provide alternative advertising methods for all businesses that either own or wish to own a website.
